NCES provides tutors for all subjects, all grades in the 7-county Northeast Ohio area. Tutors meet with individual clients in their homes or nearby libraries. A variety of NCES classes are offered at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio (I-90 and S.R. 306), in a number of school districts, and in area companies.
The NCES tutoring staff numbers more than 225 degreed professionals located throughout Northeast Ohio. Every NCES tutor is personally interviewed by a NCES director prior to tutoring or class assignment. All tutors that become specialists in RICHARDS READ Systematic Language are required to participate in at least 34 hours of specific training. REAL Life math tutors attend specific training for 16 hours.
When hiring, NCES looks for those ingredients that make tutoring successful: communication skills, people skills, and a thorough course knowledge.
Our offices are open from 8:30am to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. We are closed on generally observed holidays. Tutoring services may be scheduled seven days a week at almost any hour.
NCES Tutors
Always looking for qualified tutors and instructors, NCES encourages prospects to send resumes prior to arranging interviews. NCES positions are part-time and require travel to and from the client’s location. Every effort is made to match tutors with clients relatively near by. Many tutors with proven skills are able to work as much as they would like.
Tutors are paid a minimum rate of $16 per hour. Tutors are independent contractors and are paid for hours worked, every two weeks.
