DONATE TO THE RICHARDS LEARNING SYSTEMS VIDEO PROJECT

November 6, 2017

There is a literacy crisis in our country. Millions of Americans cannot read and it has an enormous economic impact on our community. We have a simple solution that will solve this problem – a revolutionary video reading series that will teach students and train teachers at the same time. But we need your help.

RLS

AN AWARD WINNING CURRICULUM – RICHARDS LEARNING SYSTEMS®

Since 1990, Richards Learning Systems® (RLS) has been transforming the way students of all ages and abilities learn to read. The multi-sensory, systematic reading curriculum comprised of a phonics program, reading comprehension (fiction and non-fiction) and writing skills. Winner of the prestigious NorTech Prize for Innovation, the RLS early learner phonics series is currently being converted into a series of 77 episodic videos.

A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CLEVELAND METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT

Our nonprofit partner, the Creative Education Institute (CEI), has developed a strong partnership with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and its CEO, Eric Gordon. Once the video project is complete, Gordon has committed 27 K-2 classrooms to pilot the RLS video program.

NO MORE COSTLY TEACHER TRAINING

RLS will negate the need for teacher reading workshops thanks to its groundbreaking design. Teachers will learn to teach the reading program at the same time the students are learning how to read. New teachers can simply rewatch the short videos to learn the program. This keeps teachers in the classroom and avoids the high cost of training workshops and substitutes.

HELP US SOLVE THE LITERACY CRISIS – DONATE TODAY!

We need your help to solve the literacy crisis in our community and our nation. Whether you are a teacher, a parent, or a students, there are bound to be some butterflies when you hear acronyms like SAT, ACT, PRAXIS, PARCC, OAA, etc. Generally, a little bit of nervousness is good – it is your body’s way of telling you that this is important to you and you want to succeed.
