Teachers Needed For Independent Contractor Tutoring

North Coast Education Services provides tutoring for students of all ages – in all subjects and grades – throughout Northeast Ohio. Tutors meet with individual clients in their homes or at nearby public locations, such as local libraries. NCES also partners with school districts and area companies to provide on-site instruction for students, teachers, and staff.

To date, the North Coast Education Services tutors include more than 300 degreed professionals. Every tutor is personally interviewed by the program directors prior to being retained and receiving any assignment. Workshop training is available for those tutors wishing to become certified in Richards Learning Systems ® and Real Life Ma+h.

When retaining tutors, NCE looks for these ingredients that make tutoring successful:

  • communication skills
  • people skills
  • thorough course knowledge
  • patience
  • flexibility
  • dedication

We are always looking for qualified tutors, instructors, and therapists. Ohio licensure required for referral eligibility for students participating in Jon Peterson grant program, and district placed students. Other requirements apply for Autism and private client referrals.

  • Intervention Specialists
  • Licensed teachers
  • Speech Language Pathologists
  • Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants
  • Behavior Therapists – BCBA/COBA
  • Registered Behavior Technicians
  • Instructional Assistant Permit (Autism program only)

Interested educators should complete our
Tutor Profile Form and email it with you resume, and current licensure if available, to infosessions@northcoasted.com. No phone calls please.

NCES tutors are independent contractors, retained on an assignment-by-assignment basis. Tutor referral relationships last from 1 year to 30+ years. Contractors are responsible for their own transportation to and from the client’s location. Individual Placements range from 1 -15 hours per week, with an average of 4-5 hours per student.

Tutoring may be scheduled seven days a week at almost any hour, at the discretion of the family and the tutor. Every effort is made to match tutors with clients relatively nearby their own home. Many tutors with proven skills are able to work as much as they would like.

“Ellen is a blessing! We are so grateful to have her as a part of our son’s education.”
