START TUTORING FOR EXAMS TODAY!

January 3, 2017

Happy Halloween, readers! October is almost over and exams are right around the corner. Are you ready?

It may seem too early to start cracking the books and studying for your final exams. After all, you are probably 4 – 6 weeks away. So, why start now?

Because research has shown time and again that cramming is NOT an effective way to study. And yet, it’s one of the most popular ways to prepare for tests. Cramming can cause unnecessary stress, sleeplessness, and sometimes even physical illness and anxiety.

This time, rather than stressing yourself out and cramming, why not try something new?

Instead of cramming for your exams, get a tutor.

“But I’m smart. Why do I need a tutor?”

Tutors don’t just help students who are struggling in class. Tutors also challenge bright students and help develop and strengthen valuable skills.

HERE ARE THREE REASONS WHY YOU NEED A NORTH COAST EDUCATION SERVICES (NCES) TUTOR TO HELP YOU PREP FOR YOUR EXAMS:

1. DEVELOP A STUDY PLAN

Your tutor can analyze your approach to studying and help identify which of your habits are effective. No doubt you’re balancing studying around your other homework, extra-curricular activities, and maybe even a job. Working together, you and your NCES tutor will create a study plan that works best for you and your schedule.

2. PERSONALIZED COACHING

At NCES, we understand that no two students are exactly the same. That is why all of our tutoring sessions are completely customized. Imagine having school support that has been designed to meet your needs and they way you think! Your NCES tutor will take the time to learn about you and understand how you learn best.

Having a tutor is like having a personal trainer or fitness coach. The trainer is there specifically to motivate you and drive you to success through your workouts. A tutor does the exact same thing, only with academics. It’s like having a permanent cheering section in the grandstands.

3. CONSISTENT PRACTICE

Tutoring sessions are most effective when they happen on a consistent basis, at least once a week. The same is true for studying. You need to continually practice a new skill in order to learn and understand it. For example, once you learned 2 + 2 = 4, you had to practice it to commit to memory. You probably practiced with flash cards, maybe even with blocks, and took quizzes to prove you really knew the fact. It’s no different with high school or college subjects. By meeting your NCES tutor on a regular basis, you are devoting time to consistently study for your exams and finals.
