The holidays have arrived! I received my first dusting of snow this weekend and the radio stations have already started to play classic carols. Soon we’ll be seeing candles in the windows and children riding sleds, building their very own snowmen.
In more recent years, the retail industry has started to capitalize on the busiest shopping season of the year. We all know about Black Friday — the day after Thanksgiving. Recently, the industry has included Small Business Saturday (dedicated to supporting local businesses), Cyber Monday (the best holiday deals online), and Giving Tuesday (donating to your local charities).
As you and your household prepare for the season, remember to stop and think about your education…and those in the world who are still struggling to learn how to read.
