A SOLUTION FROM THE CREATIVE EDUCATION INSTITUTE

The Creative Education Institute (CEI) is the non-profit partner of North Coast Education Services. The mission of the Creative Education Institute is to improve literacy through improved literacy. Every summer, CEI operates the Academic Fun & Fitness Camp for children with learning disabilities.

A LITERACY GAME-CHANGER

Currently, the Creative Education Institute is hard at work raising money for a huge project. CEI is transforming the award-winning Richards Learning Systems® multi-sensory reading curriculum into a series of short episodic videos. The videos will teach children how to read and train the teachers in the reading program at the same time. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District has already committed 27 K-2 classrooms to the program.

YOU CAN HELP IMPROVE LITERACY!

This Valentine’s Day, consider purchasing your gifts through Amazon Smile. Your purchases can help support the development of this influential reading program.

This week, I will be presenting a four-part series on test taking anxiety. Be sure to check back each day for the next installment. Or, if you’d rather, subscribe to our blog on the sidebar and have the next post delivered right to your inbox. Happy reading! Preparing for testing season is enough to make anybody nervous. Whether you are a teacher, a parent, or a students, there are bound to be some butterflies when you hear acronyms like SAT, ACT, PRAXIS, PARCC, OAA, etc. Generally, a little bit of nervousness is good – it is your body’s way of telling you that this is important to you and you want to succeed.
