Some students excel at writing and reading, but they may have a hard time comprehending equation-based studies in their math and business courses. One technique that NCES uses for math tutoring is Real Life Ma+h, a multi-sensory, systematic mathematics program. Real Life Ma+h has been proven to be extremely effective for individuals with learning disabilities and other students who struggle to learn. Real Life math is designed for basic math skills including: computation skills (whole number operations, fractions, decimals and percent), word problems and math concepts using manipulatives.
