Humanities
English, Language Arts And Social Science Courses For Ohio Students.
Some students excel at writing and reading, but they may have a hard time comprehending their English literature, struggle with writing a term paper, or do not understand their history textbook. Students must complete four years of English courses in order to graduate.
NCES uses Richards Learning Systems ®, a research-based multi-sensory, systematic language arts program. Richards Learning Systems ® has been proven to be extremely effective for individuals with learning disabilities and other students who struggle to learn. Richards Learning Systems ® is designed for basic language arts skills including: word reading (decoding and fluency), spelling, writing (sentence, paragraph and 5-paragraph essay construction), fiction comprehension (literature) and non-fiction comprehension (textbooks).
Students may need help with concepts, study skills, organization or a combination of these. Our tutors are skilled in identifying the problem and assisting the student in overcoming difficulties and finding success and self-confidence.
